Directly on the Cesky Krumlov main town square (Svornosti Square) you can find a very unique instruments of torture and criminal punishment exposition.
The Museum of Torture is newly installed in the reconstructed cellars. In these ancient rooms you are pulled into the fierce times of the Middle Age. The corporal punishment most nightmarish developments and the worst methods were used for guilty and innocent alike here.
Almost 100 exhibits are placed in an area covering 400 sq meters. An ancient atmosphere is increased by wax figures in an original environment, sound effects and two bizarre audio-visual effects (sword execution and a witch burning).
